☮ About Me ☮ ☮ About Me ☮

My name is Beth Diesch, and I am currently double majoring in Film (Critical Studies) and Sociology at the University of California, Santa Cruz. I am hoping to attend graduate school to earn an MSW and pursue a career in social work.

I participated in a film program in my high school for four years before coming to Santa Cruz. At UCSC I worked as a producer in a film group called Moxie before working in a similar position in a new group called Yeti Attack Productions. In my second year at UCSC I began taking sociology classes and enjoyed them immensely. I am currently preparing for my senior thesis (which will probably be about human trafficking) and my senior film project in which I will teach a class (probably about the Body Genre).

I had different career goals from when I wanted to pursue film versus where I'm at now. When I wanted to continue with film I wanted to adapt Piers Anthony's book series "The Incarnations of Immortality" for film, and I also wanted to create an animated television series for the children's tales "The Cinnamon Bear", originally broadcast over the radio in 1937. Even though I have no definite plan for continuing these ideas, they are still fun prospects to consider.
